Overview

The Optical Fiber Identifier (OFI) is a practical and reliable field tool used to detect optical signals in live fiber lines without disrupting network traffic. Using micro-bending testing technology, this device allows technicians to safely identify active fibers, signal direction, and relative power levels before performing maintenance or reconnection work.

Equipped with an intuitive LED display and audible tone detection, the OFI can quickly determine whether a fiber is live or dark, as well as recognize standard traffic tones (270 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz). The ergonomic handheld design ensures comfortable one-hand operation, making it ideal for field technicians working in access, metro, or enterprise fiber networks.

A built-in Visual Fault Locator (VFL) further enhances functionality by assisting with continuity testing and fault location, reducing the need for multiple tools on site.
